Summary of Last Year
Chapman’s Retreat PTO is in its sixteenth year serving the children of Spring Hill. Our mission is to advocate support for Chapman’s Retreat Elementary School’s teachers and staff in order for our children to receive the best possible education. We need the help of our business community to meet our goals.
Thanks to parents like you, we are able to do great things for our students last year. Last year we raised $2,025 from our PTO Memberships, $1,200 from the Santa Breakfast, over $2,400 from local Spirit Nights where a portion of sales were donated to our PTO, a little over $4,600 from community reward programs provided by various businesses. We raised over $31,000 in profits at our annual Fun Run and over $10,000 at our annual Cheetahfest and Silent Auction event.
From the funds raised, we were able to provide so much for our students & teachers. During the 2017/18 school year, we spent $17,000 to purchase a new track for our students to enjoy. This will be used for many events, including the Run Club.
We also spent over $23,000 for new Chromebooks for students and $2,200 for iPads for Kindergarten.
We were able to provide a new sound system for the PE department, which was $1,000. We also spent $486 on Professional Development for our teachers, $500 for our Art classroom, about $500 for Time Magazines for the 3rd graders, and $200 for solar eclipse glasses.
We were able to spend about $3,000 on teacher special requests for the classroom.
Goals for this Year
This year, we are raising money to update our technology.
We know that with the help of our students, parents and community members, we can meet this goal.
