In case you haven’t heard, we are SOOOO excited to be working on creating a STEM lab (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) for the school. This lab will be an awesome place where teachers can bring their classes for fun, relevant, hands-on learning activities. This will be the PTO’s big project for the year, and we will be allocating FUN Run money to buying science kits for each grade level, along with completing the microscope set we started last year, and some other fun things like Robotics kits.
The PTO will be purchasing major needs for the lab, such as an immediate purchase of 8 Android Tablets for use in the lab, and will be fundraising to provide items like more microscopes, science kits, etc. Please consider joining the PTO with the $25 membership fee to help support these purchases!
We’d love to get the lab stocked with the basics right away so that the kids can get in there and start learning! To get the lab up and running as soon as possible, there are some items that we were hoping parents could volunteer to send in. Many of these items can be purchased at the dollar store, and some of them can be used items. There are also a few more expensive things on the list that perhaps your family would want to purchase, or you might have a business who would want to sponsor the items. Please take a look and see if there is anything you can contribute. Every little bit helps!
If you do want to purchase or donate an item, please sign up for the item and send it with your child (or bring large items to the office) marked as “STEM Lab” by September 12 (or as soon as possible). Your support is very much appreciated!
