Back to School Bash!

This year’s back to school bash will be on Monday, August 3 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

We are excited to have three local food trucks joining us for the event.  We welcome Moe Better BBQTchoupitoulas Street Snoballs and Itty Bitty Donuts.

There will be a change this year to how you find out your child’s class assignment.  Instead of class lists being posted, there will be tables set up organized alphabetically by last name.  At the table, you will receive a card with your child’s teacher(s) listed, along with a photo of the teacher and his/her room number.  You will not receive a full list of other students in your child’s classroom.

There will also be lots of other tables full of information that will be useful to you as we kick off the school year.  These tables include:

We got more parking!!!

Everyone should be excited to learn that 50 new parking spaces were added behind the school over the summer.  This should do a great deal to help with the parking issues we have all experienced during events.  According to Dr. Garrett, parents may park in the front of the school or behind.  On typical school days, you will have to enter through the front door, as the school safety officer has requested there only be one entry.  However, during school events, there will be someone posted at the backdoor so that parents who have parked in the back may sign in at the back door.  This is great news and should help a lot!

Introducing your new 2015/16 PTO Board!

We had our very first board meeting of the year and are so excited to get started on all the fun events for this year.  One of our first tasks was to get a website up and running to be able to communicate effectively with all parents.  We wanted to make it easy for you to sign up for PTO membership and to volunteer for many different activities at school.  We hope this site will make it easier for you to keep up with all the events that are going on and to find the way for you to personally contribute to our wonderful school.

Our first event coming up is the back to school bash on August 3.  We are lining up lots of yummy food trucks so stayed tuned for more details.  We can’t wait to see everyone and to kick this school year off.  Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or suggestions for the upcoming year.
